Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Engineer in paints, coatings and organic protections (m/f) to join the Materials, Processes and Test Department (Surface Technologies team) based at the Paris-Le Bourget (Dugny municipality) site, France.

Airbus Helicopters established its core blade activity center at its Paris-Le Bourget site in 2017, focusing on the design, production, and repair of helicopter blades, aiming to be the industry reference for composite dynamic assemblies and blades.
Your future missions:
As a member of the paints, coatings & organic protections team, you will join a transnational unit supporting all helicopter programs from research to in-service. You will be in charge of organic protection systems for composite and metallic parts (pore-filler, primer, top-coat, functional coatings, adhesive tapes, etc.).
You will work autonomously on several topics, including:
- Developing, qualifying, and implementing new organic coatings and protection systems, as well as their industrial application processes for composite and metallic parts.
- Specifying and validating material performance and the robustness of associated industrial processes.
- Managing the planning and execution of test programs in accordance with Airbus Helicopters processes.
- Authoring technical documents related to material and process qualification (specifications, standards, manufacturing instructions, etc.).
- Exchanging with materials suppliers regarding the development or qualification of new products (primarily paint and adhesive tape suppliers).
- Supporting on-site production teams (technical support, handling production non-conformities, etc.) and addressing non-conformity cases through root cause analysis and proposing technical solutions.
- Understanding, processing, and responding to internal customer technical questions.
- Evolving protection material specifications based on in-service experience feedback.
Your profile:
Education / Experience:
- Master's degree or PhD in materials science, polymer coating, chemistry, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in Materials and Processes and/or paint formulation.
Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge of surface treatments, coatings, and paints, their application, and their protective functions on various types of substrates (metallic, composites).
- Previous experience in project management is required.
Languages:
- Fluent French.
- English at a negotiating level.
- German is considered a plus.
Soft skills:
