About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a skilled and adaptable Verification and Validation (V&V) Test Engineer to join our Real-Time Embedded software department! You will be working with teams of enthusiastic, dedicated engineers to qualify components of some of the world's most sophisticated defence systems, spanning a diverse portfolio of work packages.
If you have experience of verification and validation in an advanced technological environment, ideally with a background in embedded software development, then we would like to talk to you. The role requires taking requirements, developing them into robust test cases, preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback to project teams. You will have to draw upon your strong practical problem-solving skills, data acquisition expertise, and adaptability.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience of Verification and Validation (V&V) activities in an embedded software environment.
- Embedded software development experience using Ada.
- Experience of turning requirements into structured test cases and procedures.
- Experience of working in a lab environment on an electro-mechanical product running embedded software.
- Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle.
- Scripting abilities.
Desirable, but not essential
- Safety critical systems experience.
- Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330.
- Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
- Model Driven Design experience.
- Knowledge of test automation methods.
- Knowledge of DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, LDRA.
- Breakpoint Analysis experience.
