About the Role
We are seeking an Electromechanical Field Engineer to join our team at a Graduate / Entry Level. This role offers a distinctive 9/75 working pattern, granting you every other Friday off.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive specialist training and career development opportunities. Training will be conducted at a Royal Navy Base in Faslane, Helensburgh, with occasional short periods at other UK locations.
Through specialist training, you will develop skills to:
- Become a fully integrated member of the Waterfront Team, conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, and test procedures on board submarines and in shore facilities.
- Potentially undertake contractor sea trials, involving short periods away at sea on the platform.
- Progress to delivering technical training, providing technical consultancy, and producing detailed reports with mature solutions to support management, the Ministry of Defence, and other stakeholders.
- Assist the Waterfront Associate Manager and team in creating presentations and technical reports for customer and stakeholder meetings.
- Fulfill a predominantly hands-on engineering role, with potential travel within the UK and to the US for meetings, training, and engineering support.
- Conduct tasks for the ongoing compliance of lifting equipment, requiring Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) certification.
- Complete forklift driving courses to aid in the movement of relevant materials.

This role also requires passing the equivalent of a Submarine Medical and SMERAS training, which includes a 2m jump into water and a 50m swim at a bespoke facility.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a similar subject with an Electromechanical bias, or a minimum of a HNC with commercial experience in a hands-on Electromechanical role.
- A hands-on, structured, and thorough approach to problem-solving, with a proactive stance on providing solutions to emergent challenges.
- The ability to take ownership of delegated tasks and drive them to successful completion within agreed deadlines.
- The capacity to function effectively as part of a team, possessing excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of the necessity to adhere to applicable documentation within a highly prescriptive environment.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Software Suite.
