About The Role
Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is seeking a motivated and disciplined Field Support Representative (FSR) to join our team in Bovington. This permanent, full-time role is integral to the Challenger 3 Programme, where you will provide essential technical support and foster strong user and customer relationships. You will report directly to the Trials Manager, with an indirect line to the Field Support Manager. While based in Bovington, this role involves significant travel to various UK and international locations, including civilian and military test sites.
What You Will Do
- Support day-to-day trials activities and cultivate user/customer relationships to deliver cost-effective technical support across UK sites (Telford, Bovington, Kirkcudbright).
- Resolve technical queries generated by users and maintainers, and manage the processing of Line Replacement Units (LRUs).
- Conduct Configuration Control for equipment by providing build state information for platforms, systems, or sub-systems.
- Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Support the planning and implementation of retrofit, modification, and conversion programmes, and train other staff where qualified.
- Provide technical support during trials, including equipment failure diagnosis and LRU removal/replacement.
- Perform or assist with off-site planned and on-condition maintenance for CR3 platforms.
- Offer field support assistance to trials facilities, units on exercises, and firing camps.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and acceptance of RBSL products into service.
- Identify training deficiencies within user units, propose cost-saving measures, and suggest improvements to enhance the Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) of RBSL products.
What Qualifications You Should Have
As an FSR, your skills and qualifications should ideally include:
- A formally qualified Electronic/Electrical background or equivalent experience.
- An Instructor/Teaching qualification.
- Experience with MOD or Military (REME).
- The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams is essential.
- Competence with L1 & L2 maintenance tasks.
Desirable/advantageous qualifications include:
- Formally qualified Electronic/Electrical background in Gun Control Equipment and Heavy Vehicle systems.
- Experience with Turret, Gun Control Equipment, and Vehicle Hull & Sub-system installations and fault-finding.
- Expertise in CR2/Heavy Electronic/Electrical systems.
- A Tracked Vehicle Licence (H Licence).
- IOSH working safely accreditation.
