About the Role

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is looking for motivated and disciplined Field Support Representatives (FSRs) with an excellent work ethic and a hands-on approach to join our team in Bovington. As an FSR, you will play a vital role in the Challenger 3 Programme, providing essential technical support and fostering strong user and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day trials activities and the continuous development of user and customer relationships, offering cost-effective technical support at various UK locations (Telford, Bovington, Kirkcudbright).
  • Resolve user and maintainer-generated technical queries and manage the processing of Line Replacement Units (LRUs).
  • Perform configuration control for equipment under contract, providing platform, system, or sub-system build state information.
  • Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Support the planning and implementation of retrofit, modification, and conversion programmes, and train other staff where qualified.
  • Provide technical support for trials activities, including equipment failure diagnosis and LRU removal/replacement.
  • Perform or assist with 'off-site' planned and on-condition maintenance for CR3 platforms.
  • Offer field support assistance to trials facilities, units on exercises, and firing camps.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and acceptance of RBSL products into service.
  • Identify training deficiencies within user units, propose cost-saving measures, and suggest improvements to enhance the maintenance and repair (R&M) of RBSL products.

Requirements

As an FSR, your skills and qualifications should ideally include:

  • A formally qualified Electronic/electrical background or equivalent.
  • Instructor/Teaching qualification.
  • MOD or Military (REME) experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams is essential.
  • Competence with L1 & L2 maintenance tasks as a minimum.
  • A UK MOD ‘SC’ security clearance is required (RBSL will sponsor applications if you do not currently hold SC). Applicants must declare any known concerns regarding their ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a continuous improvement mind-set.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Formally qualified electronic/electrical Gun Control Equipment and Heavy vehicle systems background.
  • Experience with Turret, Gun Control Equipment, and Vehicle Hull & Sub-system installations and fault-finding.
  • CR2/Heavy electronic/electrical expertise.
  • Tracked vehicle license (H Licence).
  • IOSH working safely accreditation.
