As the Director of Security, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the security strategy for a vital segment of our business. Your role will involve safeguarding personnel, information, assets, and infrastructure, while simultaneously fostering innovation, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence.
Collaborating closely with senior leadership, government representatives, clients, and industry collaborators, you will provide strategic guidance across physical security, personnel security, information security, and cyber security domains. In this role, your expertise will be crucial in maintaining customer confidence, enhancing organizational resilience, and ensuring adherence to regulations within an increasingly intricate security landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer expert security advice and assurance to senior management, clients, government bodies, and key stakeholders.
- Spearhead security risk management, compliance, and assurance initiatives encompassing physical, personnel, information, and cyber security.
- Cultivate, lead, and mentor a high-achieving team of security professionals and managers.
- Promote a positive security culture that supports business expansion while rigorously protecting critical assets and sensitive information.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of the sector-wide security strategy and its accompanying governance framework.
This is a full-time, permanent position (37 hours per week) offering hybrid working arrangements. The role involves regular travel across the UK.
Essential Experience:
- Substantial experience in a senior security leadership capacity, supporting Executive or Senior Leadership Teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Government Security Functional Standards (GovS007) and pertinent aspects of JSP 440.
- Demonstrated success in leading security governance, risk management, and compliance programs.
- Strong understanding of Information Risk Management, Information Assurance, and ISO 27001 principles.
- Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on complex security matters and contractual security obligations.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining both Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearances.
