About the Role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a talented Cockpit Displays System Designer (f/m) to join the System Cockpit & Avionics Platform Engineering Design department in Toulouse, France. You will be instrumental in developing the display systems for our leading aircraft, shaping the future of cockpit displays by integrating advanced technologies like Head-mounted Displays, Tactile interfaces, and interactive elements. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including A/C Systems, Cockpit Operations, Human Factors, Pilots, and Flight Test Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Displays SA / LR / RnT & HUD team, your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of Display System development. This includes:

  • Defining specifications and overseeing the complete development lifecycle.
  • Conducting Verification and Validation activities.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and managing collaborations with the Airbus Flight Test center to ensure successful system implementation and certification.
  • Contributing to the convergence of functional requirements at the upstream level.
  • Delivering technical specifications and System Interface Documents in coordination with interfaced functions or systems.
  • Driving the development process, including supplier reviews, lab and aircraft testing, and certification, by providing necessary data and documentation with Subcontractors.
  • Championing agile methodologies and innovative working practices for effective collaboration with key internal stakeholders such as experts, system architects, safety specialists, and certification teams.
  • Supporting safety analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Profile

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • A strong interest in Cockpit or Avionics Systems development.
  • Good knowledge of hardware and software design principles, and IT systems.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • A collaborative, team-player spirit with strong organizational abilities, including negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience with collaborative tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Google Workplace) and Agile program management (e.g., SAFe) is a plus.
