Business Improvement Manager
At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world. We are seeking a Business Improvement Manager to join our team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, Devon.
As a Business Improvement Manager, you will play a crucial role within the Devonport Transformation function, spearheading continuous improvement and business transformation initiatives across the organisation. You will collaborate with leaders, programme teams, and stakeholders to identify performance enhancement opportunities, build organisational capability, and implement lasting changes that align with strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and develop Business Improvement professionals across project management, change management, business analysis, and Lean disciplines.
- Coach and mentor team members to foster capability development and support career progression.
- Deliver business improvement and transformation initiatives that support strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve business challenges, and implement sustainable change.
- Manage resources, priorities, and performance to ensure the successful execution of improvement activities.
This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and offers hybrid working arrangements, requiring a minimum of two days on-site per week.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in leading and developing professional teams, including performance and people management.
- Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring individuals to develop capability and support career progression.
- Experience in delivering business improvement, transformation, or organisational change programmes.
- Skilled in building effective stakeholder relationships and influencing at all organisational levels.
- Experience in managing resources, priorities, and performance within a complex operational environment.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrable expertise within a recognised business improvement discipline.
Desirable:
- Association for Project Management (APM) qualification.
- Change Management Practitioner qualification.
- Business Analysis Practitioner qualification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Leadership qualification or equivalent leadership development experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National and able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
