Applications Technician for Industrial Maintenance Area

About the Role

An opportunity for a Senior Industrial Maintenance Specialist (L3+) has arisen within Airbus Operations, Illescas (Toledo). The selected candidate will join the Industrial Asset Management & Maintenance Team. This department is responsible for guaranteeing the high availability, safety, and continuous improvement of critical industrial assets across the site. The team is multidisciplinary, highly technical, and operates in close contact with production, safety, and engineering units.

The jobholder will reinforce our maintenance capabilities, taking part in complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and life-cycle optimization for advanced manufacturing machinery.

Responsibilities

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

• Execute and supervise L3+ corrective and preventive maintenance on complex systems (automation, electrics, technology) strictly respecting all applicable HSE rules.
• Perform technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on critical machinery to implement robust, long-term technical solutions.
• Manage digital maintenance workflows by performing, closing, and updating Work Orders (WO) accurately in the CMMS.
• Provide detailed diagnostic feedback to maintenance supervisors, engineers, and Asset Managers to drive decision-making.
• Contribute to maintainability and Life Cycle analyses through technical data input and tools such as PARETO, RCM, and cost tracking.
• Supervise and mentor industrial maintenance operators during complex system maintenance activities to ensure technical excellence.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Higher Vocational Education (FPVII / Grado Superior) in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation & Robotics, or an Industrial Engineering degree.
• Experience: Proven solid experience in advanced industrial maintenance (L3+), troubleshooting, and supervision of complex automated/electrical systems.
• Soft Skills: High adaptability to work on complex technical topics, strong team spirit, dynamic problem-solving mindset, and leadership/supervisory skills.
• Languages: Intermediate to Advanced level in English (B2 recommended) and fluent in Spanish.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in industrial automation, electrical systems, advanced diagnostic tools, and hands-on experience with CMMS software.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Familiarity with continuous improvement methodology (RCM, Pareto, Root Cause Analysis like 5-Why/Ishikawa) and experience in high-tech manufacturing sectors (e.g., aerospace, automotive).
