Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an Airframe Structural Design Engineer (f/m) to join a brand-new team within the Military Derivatives department of Air Power in Toulouse, France. This role is integral to an exciting and challenging new upcoming military program focused on reinforcing European sovereignty.
Your Role:
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing challenging tasks related to the concept, definition, and development of structural airframe components, assemblies, and design solutions for aircraft derivative programs. You will employ modern design processes, methods, and tools, including Catia V5 and CSG Full3D, while actively engaging with other stakeholders.
- Establish Design principles, Key Characteristics Design, Interface, Frontiers, Interface Points, Materials, and Manufacturing processes.
- Participate actively in the collaborative and concurrent process with Industrial and Production teams, maintaining a customer-oriented view through Airbus Defense & Space services to the final customer.
- Support the complete product lifecycle of an aircraft in an End-to-End (E2E) Design Process using modern software and applications.
- Foster strong working relationships with other Engineering Design offices (e.g., stress, analysis, loads, systems installation, armament, material & processes, aerodynamic, configuration design, DMU/CAD) to broaden your knowledge of interface design.
- Provide technical support to various stakeholders including supply chain, quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, production and assembly, M&P, stress analysis, Chief Engineer, Architecture and Integration, and Airworthiness and Certification teams.
Your Profile:
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate proven experience in:
- Metallic and Composites technologies and materials applied to Airframe Structural Design (Empennage, Fuselage, Wing, LWB, Doors, Mechanisms, Military systems).
- Designing structures of components and assemblies.
- Managing and coordinating internal teams and external subcontracting companies.
- Structural design, pre-sizing knowledge, and configuration management.
- Languages: A good level of English is required. Spanish and French languages would be a plus.
- Possessing good communication skills, collaboration abilities, proactivity, and a team-play working spirit.
This position requires a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities.
