// Role Specification
Airbus Atlantique Canada Inc., a subsidiary of the Airbus group located in Mirabel, QC, is looking for a Senior Buyer specializing in aircraft parts. The position is within the Procurement department, part of a 5-person team.
This role requires an understanding of potential compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity, forming the foundation for the company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
In this role, the buyer will be responsible for:
- Contributing to sourcing activities, managing tenders and contract negotiations to achieve the best purchasing conditions in line with the Company's requirements and in close collaboration with requesting departments and clients.
- Ensuring the follow-up of existing contracts (during innovation, development, series production, and support phases) with suppliers and internal company partners to ensure full adherence to contract terms and conditions throughout their duration, and guaranteeing that deliverables provided by service providers meet expected performance standards (logistics, support, quality, cost...).
- Managing day-to-day relationships with suppliers and ongoing projects to optimize client value while minimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and risks.
- Producing relevant weekly indicators for the aircraft parts scope and reporting them to the Procurement Manager.
- Mentoring junior buyers in the team; prior experience in aeronautics or at Airbus would be a significant asset to enable the team's long-term skill development.
Missions
The scope for this role covers aircraft parts procurement in relation to North American suppliers, in close collaboration with the supply chain and procurement teams located in France, particularly for Hardware & Fasteners, Elementary Parts, Chemicals, and materials through supplier enablement.
Additionally, cross-functional activities within the procurement team may be requested, such as tracking internal supplier creations or those via our client, managing deviation files, supplier payments, etc.
This scope may evolve.
Profile Sought
Ideally, the applicant holds a Master's degree (BAC+5) or equivalent from a business school or engineering school with a specialization in procurement or supply chain management.
The candidate should also possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position and recognized personal qualities in multi-disciplinary approaches, contract and project management, and communication.
