// Role Specification

We are seeking a highly motivated Team Lead with a passion for people leadership and a proven track record in delivery to join our expanding RF and Antenna Team within the Electronic Engineering (EE) Function.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the design and delivery of some of the most exciting and challenging projects in the UK defence industry. Working alongside another Team Lead, the Group Lead, and Technical Experts, you will be instrumental in guiding the team to success.

The Team Lead position requires a strong technical background in RF design, coupled with the ability to lead work packages and provide essential day-to-day guidance to the team. This role offers great career development pathways, allowing progression in either technical or people management disciplines.

What we're looking for:

  • A proven track record in leading and delivering complex RF design packages.
  • Experience collaborating within a diverse, cross-functional organisation.
  • A flair for leadership and people management, with the ability to inspire and drive high-performing teams.
  • Proven practical RF (component level) design and testing of RF circuits across a wide frequency range (e.g., 30MHz to 30GHz), including LNA Amplifier, High Power Amplifier, filter, local oscillator, synthesiser, and modulator design.
  • Good knowledge of digital, analogue, and power supply design.
  • Experience using RF and Antenna design tools (e.g., Microwave Office, HFSS), including layout.
  • Fully conversant with modern Radio Transceiver System architecture and design.
  • Fully conversant with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, including design for manufacture and test.
  • Experience in Project Management and the planning of tasks/activities (use of Excel, P6, or MS Project is beneficial) to ensure delivery On Time, On Cost, and On Quality.
