// Role Specification

If you are passionate about fighter aircrafts, spend hours with flight simulators, and are looking for an opportunity to work in a company with cutting-edge technology, this job offer is for you. We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Senior Software Engineer to join our development team for the Spanish Trainer.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in C++ programming and possess a deep understanding of software engineering principles within highly regulated environments. You will be part of the full software development lifecycle—from requirements engineering and architectural design to implementation, testing, and system integration within complex simulation environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Developing the simulation SW to be included in the Embedded Training Solution of the SAETA 2 aircraft trainer.
  • Supporting the development and operation of the SAETA 2 Simulators.
  • Supporting the design, development and deployment of the devices that compose the Ground Based Training System where all the future Spanish Combat Pilots will train. This activity includes Virtual Reality Training Devices.
  • Collaborate on feasibility studies investigating new features to optimize pilot trainings.

Tasks:

Requirements Engineering:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document high-level and low-level software requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance with rigorous industry standards.

Software Design:

  • Lead the architectural and detailed design of complex software components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance optimized for real-time or near-real-time systems.

High-Performance Development:

  • Implement robust, efficient, and maintainable code using modern C++ standards.

Verification & Validation (V&V):

  • Define comprehensive test strategies, including unit, integration, and system-level testing. Develop automated test suites to ensure software integrity.

System Integration:

  • Perform hands-on integration of software components into large-scale simulators or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.

Process Compliance:

  • Adhere to and enforce strict software engineering processes and lifecycle models, ensuring all documentation and artifacts meet mission-critical quality standards.

Mentorship & Review:

  • Conduct rigorous peer code reviews and design reviews to maintain high coding standards and technical excellence within the team.

Required Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • Expert C++ Programming: Mastery of C++ with a focus on memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Software Engineering Mastery: Deep knowledge of design patterns and software architecture.
  • Regulated Process Experience: Experience working under strict software development lifecycles (e.g., AQAP, DO-178C, or similar formal methodologies).
  • Testing Expertise: Proficiency in testing frameworks and a strong understanding of V-Model development cycles.
  • Systems Integration: Experience integrating software into complex simulation environments or embedded avionics systems.
  • Experience using: Linux, Dockers, Conan, Make files.
  • Availability to travel: average of one week each two months.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
