Role Description

Based in Edinburgh Parks, this role focuses on highly technical signal processing for an innovative radar solution. The High Frequency (HF) Exports line of business is developing a software and hardware solution that implements enhanced signal processing capabilities for Over The Horizon Radar (OTHR) technologies for our international customers.

As part of the development team, you will play a key role in signal processing, radar algorithms, and development on Graphic Processing Units (GPU) using ArrayFire. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative environment and fast-paced development utilising Agile Kanban or Scrum sprints, with plenty of self-research and supported problem-solving.

Core Duties:

• Analyse, design, develop, maintain, and unit test software applications using C++ and ArrayFire.
• Research and investigate innovative solutions to radar algorithms, mathematical problems, and GPU scaling.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of integration and testing activities.
• Develop documentation and actively participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical audits.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.

About YOU:

• Tertiary qualification in technology, engineering, or similar is required.
• Strong working knowledge of C/C++ Programming language (preferably on Linux).
• Experience in ArrayFire (or other GPU libraries) software development is highly desirable.
• Experience with software development and collaboration tools including Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Git, Qt, Clang-Tidy, and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practice development methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile teams, with active participation in Scrum ceremonies and sprint-based delivery.
• Experience developing and maintaining unit tests.
• Radar experience is advantageous, particularly in OTHR.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Defence security clearance NV1 preferred, with the ability to satisfy ITAR and export control compliance requirements.
