About the Role
Join Babcock as a Senior Quality Engineer at our Bristol or Devonport site, supporting the delivery of critical defence and engineering programmes within our Mission Systems business. This role is pivotal in ensuring complex projects meet all quality, regulatory, and business requirements, contributing directly to national security and operational excellence. What You'll Do
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will provide expert quality advice, guidance, and support to project teams throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. This is an influential position where you will collaborate closely with project teams, customers, and leadership to achieve successful project outcomes while advancing your own expertise within a leading international engineering organisation.
- Provide quality advice, guidance, and support to project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Identify and manage customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements across multiple projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive positive quality culture change.
- Assess quality risks and implement mitigation actions, escalating issues appropriately.
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, representing quality interests across programmes.
About You
This full-time, permanent role operates on a 37-hour week, offering hybrid working arrangements with 1-2 days onsite and 2-3 days working from home.
Essential Experience:
- Significant practical experience in a Quality Engineering role within a regulated engineering, manufacturing, defence, aerospace, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
- Experience supporting projects and working with customer-facing stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive quality improvements and support organisational culture change.
- Experience identifying, managing, and mitigating quality-related risks.
Qualifications:
- Desirable: ONC, HNC, or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a Quality, science, or engineering discipline, or at least 3 years of experience in a Quality role.
- Membership of an applicable professional body, such as the CQI, is preferred.
- Experience as an ISO 9001 auditor is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
