We are seeking a talented Senior Project Manager to join our UK Defence business at our Boscombe Down site. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and work with state-of-the-art technology.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering a wide array of exciting projects and programmes, driving pioneering defence innovation and capability for both industry and government. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leading multiple complex projects from initial customer engagement through to successful completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with strategic business objectives. You will provide effective project leadership and manage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to meet commitments and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-value (£5m+ per annum) complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Lead cross-functional teams and provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers and team members.
- Manage project financial and resource demand forecasts effectively.
Essential Experience
- A proven track record in delivering complex technical projects, adept at managing timescales, uncertainty, and risk.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering multiple projects for multiple customers simultaneously.
- A background in Defence, Aerospace, or Engineering is preferred.
Essential Qualifications
- APM PMQ capability.

Location and Working Hours
This role is based at our Boscombe Down site, with a standard working week of 37 hours. A minimum average site attendance of three days per week is required.

MOD Boscombe Down is a distinctive operational site featuring the UK's longest military runway. It specialises in providing testing, evaluation, and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. The site is recognised for its extensive flight-testing capabilities and plays a critical role in the UK’s aviation defence, contributing to the development, testing, and airworthiness of military aircraft to enhance operational readiness and effectiveness.
Security Clearance
Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance for this position. Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
