Senior Project Manager - Estates

We are seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Platform Design and Life-support Systems Integrated Delivery Team (PDLS IDT) at our Haslar or PTP sites in the Portsmouth Area. This permanent, full-time role is integral to delivering Estates projects for the Maritime Strategic Capabilities Agreement (MSCA), ensuring successful outcomes for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Your Opportunity

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of maritime infrastructure. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of estates projects, with no two days the same – from major facility refurbishments to delivering specialist infrastructure that supports cutting-edge maritime research and testing. You will be entrusted to balance cost, quality, risk, and programme performance across a broad stakeholder network, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, securely, and successfully.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Deliver high-value (up to £5m per annum) or complex projects, fostering positive engagement with customers, partners, and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate delivery forecasts aligned with current project expectations.
• Define, agree, and manage project budgets, reporting progress against cost plans.
• Manage essential project documentation, including bids, proposals, and third-party documents.
• Implement appropriate risk management strategies, quality control methods, and ensure safe and secure team operations.

Essential Experience:

• Proven experience delivering projects to up to 3 different customers.
• Experience in delivering construction or refurbishment projects following RIBA stages.
• Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standards, environmental and ecological legislation.
• Working knowledge of NEC, JCT, and RIBA contracts.
• Extensive experience with Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations, having acted in a client or similar role on a construction project.
• A detailed understanding of civil engineering, infrastructure, and building works methods.

Essential Qualifications:

• Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level B.
• Hold a recognised PM qualification (e.g., APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2).

Working Environment and Benefits:

This role is based on-site for 37 hours per week, with an average of at least 3 days per week on site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
