Senior Project Manager - Luton Facilities Projects
Are you an experienced infrastructure/construction project management professional seeking to lead projects for a world-leading manufacturer of radars, lasers, and infrared countermeasures systems? Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our Luton-based facilities projects team.
Your Impact:
You will lead and co-ordinate all infrastructure/construction projects across the Leonardo Luton site. This includes managing key supply-chain partners and professional third-parties, in collaboration with the site SVP, leadership team, and other senior stakeholders.
This role is based in Luton with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to balance office and home work. Occasional travel to other Leonardo UK locations may be required.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities Projects, you will lead and direct a significant infrastructure/construction programme of works and contribute to the evolution of the projects delivery strategy as part of the Projects leadership team.
What you’ll do:
- Be accountable for the successful, compliant, safe, and on-time delivery of all site infrastructure and construction projects.
- Engage with key stakeholders and enterprise delivery partners to define, develop, coordinate, and implement the site infrastructure/construction project programme across all RIBA stages.
- Ensure all projects within the agreed programme are progressed and delivered in compliance with CDM regulations and Leonardo processes.
- Lead the delivery of diverse projects including business growth, workspace reconfigurations, refurbishments, site M&E and fabric upgrades, Net Zero, and security projects.
- Organise the project programme effectively to meet site requirements and priorities, focusing on safety, compliance, business growth, and capability.
- Collaborate with wider site and UK FM teams to champion a culture of project management continuous improvement and best practice.
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar infrastructure/construction programme management role within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation.
- Experience in client-side positions or from a consultancy background.
- Experience leading projects through early RIBA stages before external consultancy appointment.
- Experience appointing and managing design teams.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively within an extended enterprise delivery team.
- Numerate, commercial, and analytical with a high level of drive and commitment; results-focused.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Fully conversant with CDM Regulations (2015).
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Membership of or accreditation by a relevant professional body, or working towards it.
- Experience working in defence/high security environments is highly desirable.
- Experience in high-tech engineering/manufacturing/industrial businesses.
- Experience delivering Net Zero infrastructure and workplace change projects.
- Experience delivering projects using industry-standard forms of contract.
While experience in all the above is beneficial, a good attitude and willingness to learn are paramount.
