About the Role: Senior DevOps Engineer

Northrop Grumman UK is looking for a mission-driven Senior DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers our services. You will be instrumental in shaping the technology and solutions of the future, working across a variety of exciting projects and complex challenges. You will bring technical leadership and a proactive mindset, guiding engineers through delivery and engineering challenges to support customer and programme requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Perform hands-on development and actively contribute to the codebase, including undertaking peer reviews.
  • Design engineering features that support the delivery of the product roadmap and clearly articulate design decisions.
  • Break down large pieces of work into well-defined tasks aligned with Agile delivery.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, taking ownership of build and deployment processes.
  • Demonstrate development progress to internal and external customers through clear, confident presentations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer with strong skills in CI/CD, containerisation, deployment technologies, and cloud platforms (such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, IaC, Docker and AWS).
  • Experience in Linux system administration or similar operating systems.
  • Understanding of database technologies, such as SQL, Elasticsearch or MongoDB.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, ideally gained in an agile environment.
