About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer at QinetiQ, you will play a pivotal role in delivering secure cloud capabilities that support critical national security missions. You'll be working at our customer's London site as part of a growing cloud engineering team, focused on designing, building, and supporting AWS-based environments for highly secure customer programmes.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with technical leads, architects, and customer stakeholders to deliver resilient cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, and enable the migration of applications and services into AWS environments. Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and supporting secure AWS cloud environments.
- Delivering infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Supporting the migration and hosting of applications and workloads within AWS platforms.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing cloud services to ensure performance, resilience, and security.
- Working closely with customer stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Contributing to technical documentation, testing activities, and continuous service improvement.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Cloud Engineer with at least three years' experience in AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including networking, security, and platform services.
- Experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation activities.
- Experience delivering cloud projects within secure, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating with technical stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
- Active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting) clearance.
- AWS Certification (Associate level or equivalent experience).
- Relevant technical qualification, degree, or equivalent industry experience.

Working Hours and Location
This role is based at our customer's London site, working 37 hours per week, 5 days per week.
