About the Role
MBDA is undertaking a significant transformation programme, migrating from a legacy SAP ECC6 system to SAP S/4HANA. This programme spans MBDA UK, France, and Italy, offering a unique chance to reimagine our processes and operational methods. In this pivotal role, you will directly shape the future SAP system landscape for MBDA UK. As our SAP team grows in the UK, you will hold a key position, working closely with the SAP teams in France and Italy, as well as with external system integrators.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you can expect to:
- Support the maintenance of the technical architecture for the existing on-premises SAP ECC landscape.
- Provide technical guidance on SAP Basis, HANA database, and application infrastructure.
- Offer technical oversight for activities including SAP Readiness Check, custom-code remediation, and data migration.
- Support technical testing, cutover, go-live, and post-migration activities.
- Own the integration architecture between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Provide architectural guidance on APIs, OData, IDocs, RFC, and middleware.
- Review and provide technical governance for RICEFW developments and technical specifications.
- Promote standard S/4HANA functionality and clean-core principles.
- Work closely with security and authorisation teams to ensure appropriate SAP security architecture.
- Collaborate closely with and project manage third-party suppliers.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience as an SAP Technical Architect.
- Experience with SAP ECC on-premises landscape.
- Knowledge of SAP Basis, HANA database, and application infrastructure.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA migration principles and clean-core concepts.
- Experience in integration architecture, APIs, OData, IDocs, RFC, and middleware.
- Strong governance and supplier management skills.

Working Environment
