RF Design Engineer
We have a fantastic opportunity for an RF Design Engineer to work on the research, design, and testing of cutting-edge radio-frequency technology for integration into our complex weapons systems. This role is based in Stevenage, with potential relocation assistance.
We embrace dynamic and hybrid working, aiming for a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work to suit your commitments. Typically, this role requires 3-4 days on-site per week due to workload classification. We are flexible regarding full-time or part-time arrangements to meet your needs.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an RF Design Engineer with proven practical design experience for cutting-edge defence products. You will be involved in the research, design, and testing of advanced radio-frequency technology, focusing on using your hands-on experience for modifications and rapid prototyping as needed.
We are looking for a team player with initiative and a passion for electronic engineering. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing hands-on testing and modifications to boards, possessing a strong background in RF design.
What we're looking for from you:
- Proven practical RF (component level) design and testing of RF circuits across a wide frequency range (e.g., 30MHz to 30GHz), including LNA Amplifiers, High Power Amplifiers, filters, local oscillators, synthesizers, and modulator design.
- RF design experience for harsh environments, considering EMC, vibration, and thermal factors.
- Ability to perform design proving tests and trials in the on-site laboratory.
- Excellent practical skills, including soldering, fault finding, and the use of RF test equipment.
What we can offer you:
- Company bonus of up to £2,500 (based on company performance).
- Pension scheme with a maximum total contribution of up to 14%.
- Opportunity for paid overtime.
- Flexi Leave: Up to 15 additional days per year.
- Flexible working arrangements are welcomed.
- Enhanced parental leave (up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, with enhancements for paternity, neonatal, and fertility treatments).
- Fantastic site facilities, including subsidised meals and free car parking.
