Project Management, Control & Agile Undergraduate Programme 2027

This is a 1-year placement starting in September 2027, designed to allow you to apply your university learning to real-world projects and technologies within the defence sector. Perform well on your placement, and you could secure a graduate role before your final year.
The Opportunity:
Throughout the life cycle of our products, a diverse range of people and skills are required to design, craft, and deliver our offerings to our end customers. The Project Management, Controls & Agile (PMCA) Function plays an integral role in this process. PMCA professionals work collaboratively to deliver programmes of work and projects to customers and end users on time, within budget, and to the agreed specification. Working with partners across the organisation in a fast-paced, exciting, and changing environment, you will be at the very centre of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collating updates and information from all areas of the business, at all levels, to plan next steps on a given project.
- Assisting in the delivery of sophisticated technology and engineering projects.
- Gaining on-the-job training from experienced professional project managers and project controllers.
- Developing your analytical skills to define and develop sophisticated plans.
- Maintaining work and cost breakdown structures.
- Creation of performance reports.
- Adapting your communication style for a variety of business partners, including engineers, other business areas, external customers, and project partners.
- Building your influencing, communication, motivation, and team-building skills to encourage wider teams to meet schedule and cost objectives.
- Gaining a broad understanding of the business.

Working Arrangements & Security:
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security clearance: Must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
