In this critical role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding complex engineering systems vital for national security and critical infrastructure. You will lead and influence the integration of security into systems throughout their lifecycle, from initial concept to operational deployment, ensuring robust defence against evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive Information Assurance Strategies to satisfy complex customer security requirements.
• Lead risk management activities in alignment with industry standards such as NIST SP 800-37 or the ISO/IEC 27000 series.
• Create and maintain vital security documentation, including system security plans, policies, procedures, and compliance evidence.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to deliver expert guidance on security and assurance matters.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week. It includes hybrid working arrangements with specified days onsite and days working from home.

Essential Experience:

• Ability to interpret and implement industry security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27000 series, NIST SP-800 series).
• Proven experience in information assurance, security engineering, cyber security, or a related field.
• In-depth understanding of security risk management and assurance methodologies and processes.
• Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the capability to communicate technical security risks to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated sectors is desirable.

Qualifications:

• Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor).

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Applicants must be sole UK Nationals.
