// Role Specification
We are seeking ambitious engineers with a growth mindset to join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) team. The HWIL team conducts the most complete tests of missiles short of an actual firing, acting as MBDA's Missile test track. We design complex, real-time simulations that surround real missile hardware, enabling indoor missile firings.
About the Role
As a HWIL RF Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining new and existing RF equipment. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to combine RF, electronics engineering, and software development to produce new capabilities that enable the HWIL team to run new simulations. You will need to adapt to new engineering situations and be comfortable abstracting detail to understand simulation and missile behaviour.
What we want from you:
- Broad engineering experience with deeper experience in some of the following skill areas:
- Radio Frequency design and testing
- System performance analysis
- Interface debugging and system integration
- System design for real-time applications
- Familiarity with Linux operating system
- Familiarity with computer science (C++ an advantage)
- Integration of microcontrollers into RF hardware (e.g. Raspberry Pi)
What we can offer you:
- Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
- Working Pattern: Dynamic (hybrid) working with 4 days per week on-site.
- Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
- Company Bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance).
- Pension: Maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%.
