Principal BIM Manager

This role is at the forefront of delivering structured digital information that underpins the design, maintenance, and development of critical infrastructure for the UK Royal Navy. You will innovate, lead, and influence to ensure our digital models and data are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project requirements. The Principal BIM Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Project Information Management team and accountable for the successful delivery of digital engineering and information management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a team of BIM, Digital Engineering and Information Management professionals.
- Overseeing the creation, coordination and management of detailed digital models using Revit and other BIM authoring tools.
- Managing model federation, clash detection, design coordination and 4D construction simulations using industry-standard platforms such as Navisworks, Solibri and Synchro.
- Ensuring compliance with the UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650, COBie, Uniclass and other project information management requirements.
- Collaborating with engineering, design, project delivery and stakeholder teams to enable effective coordination and successful project outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent role, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements and a minimum of 2 days in the office/onsite.
Essential Experience:
- Familiarity with the UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650, COBie and Uniclass.
- Strong experience using BIM authoring platforms such as Revit.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working in nuclear, defence or other highly regulated environments.
