// Role Specification
As a Manufacturing Engineer Undergraduate Placement, you will be an integral part of the Operations directorate, based at our Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. This department is responsible for the Assembly, Integration, and Test of all our products, playing a vital role in delivering directly to our customers and the success of MBDA's business.
What the role involves:
Manufacturing Engineers collaborate closely with design teams to enhance the producibility of designs. You will be responsible for defining the 'how' of building our products, including:
- Developing any necessary tooling for product construction.
- Creating clear instructions for product assembly.
- Contributing to the cost-effectiveness of product manufacture.
- Conducting industrial validations for production lines and suppliers.
- Providing day-to-day support to operators on the shop floor.
- Contributing to the architecture of production lines.
- Developing new and innovative manufacturing processes.
Each day presents a different challenge, blending time spent on the shop floor with office-based activities. There are also opportunities for travel to other MBDA sites and international locations, as well as visiting suppliers.
While there may be some opportunities for remote work as part of dynamic working arrangements, the nature of this role will always require a significant presence on-site.

- Current undergraduate studying towards a degree in Physics, Maths, or various Engineering disciplines.
