About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the New Programmes team for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. You will collaborate closely with Design and the New Business teams throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Your role will be crucial in identifying manufacturing requirements to support new bids, developing the manufacturing system through industrialisation gateways, and overseeing the handover of the qualified manufacturing system to production teams.
What You Will Do:
- Support industrialisation activities to create a robust manufacturing system.
- Assist in the compilation of Manufacturing Engineering bid packs for formal proposal submissions.
- Provide essential manufacturing input into early design phases by coordinating Design for Manufacture / Test (DFM/DFT) sessions.
- Identify and manage manufacturing risks by analysing lessons learned and effectively using PFMEA.
- Develop strong relationships with project stakeholders, including design, procurement, project management, technical experts, quality, planning & control, and production teams.
- Liaise with the Tx community to implement new manufacturing processes and technologies into future bids.
- Manage configuration control by incorporating design modifications into manufacturing documentation.
- Ensure products are manufactured with due consideration to safety, efficiency, and economic factors.
- Drive the progression of the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) to meet product milestones.
- Work collaboratively with Tooling design to develop the necessary tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
