Manager R&D Projects and Business Development (m/f/d)
Airbus Defence & Space in Ottobrunn is seeking a Manager for R&D Projects and Business Development. This role focuses on national and international projects within secure satellite communication.
As the Manager R&D Projects and Business Development, you will be the link between technological innovation and strategic market growth. You will drive our research and development projects forward while simultaneously identifying new business potentials to actively shape the future of Airbus.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for achieving all project objectives (time, scope, cost, quality) to the full satisfaction of the customer and in line with internal and external guidelines.
- Definition, setup, and further development of the project team across all phases, including the leadership and integration of employees from cross-functional matrix structures.
- Ensuring effective knowledge transfer to sustainably incorporate lessons learned into future processes.
- Active management of risks and opportunities (both internal and external) as well as proactive management of contractual foundations.
- Efficient management, coordination, and strategic leadership of partners and suppliers.
Your Qualifications:
- Successfully completed studies in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.), Business Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of in-depth professional experience in project management, ideally in the R&D environment within aerospace, defense, or a comparable high-tech industry.
- Demonstrable experience in business development, relationship management, or sales of complex technical projects/systems.
- Deep understanding of modern project management methods (e.g., IPMA, PMP, Agile/Scrum); a relevant certification is advantageous. Experience in risk and contract management is mandatory.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills in managing cross-functional and international teams (matrix organization). Excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with a customer-oriented approach.
- Fluent German and English language skills (Airbus corporate language); additional languages are a plus.
