Internship Opportunity: Operational Excellence at Airbus
Airbus is offering an exciting 12.5-month internship at its Broughton, North Wales facility, commencing 16 August 2027. This role is ideal for undergraduates looking to gain practical experience in operational improvement and contribute to the future of wing production.
About Airbus Operating System (AOS)
AOS is Airbus's standard methodology for daily operations, designed to enhance performance through structured routines and continuous improvement. It focuses on key aspects of the workplace, including Manpower, Machines, Materials, Measurement, Methods (5M), and Environment, aiming to reduce variability and implement effective solutions through 'Kaizen' (change for the better).
What You Will Be Doing
- Enhance your communication skills.
- Gain experience in Lean & Operational Management.

Requirements
This placement is exclusively for undergraduates who will remain students for the entire duration of the internship. Your application should include a CV and a Cover Letter detailing your motivation and suitability.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are studying towards a degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Have experience in customer-facing roles.
- Possess experience or exposure to Lean principles or continuous improvement environments.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are resilient and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Have a strong coaching mindset and a willingness to support others.
- Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset with a drive to implement positive changes.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Lean-related modules during your university studies would be beneficial.
Security Clearance
You will be required to undergo a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. Depending on the specific role, obtaining UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control clearance may also be necessary.
Benefits and Working Conditions
- Salary: £24,246 per annum.
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- Flexible working hours are available.
