This position is within a subsidiary that excels in aerospace manufacturing, research, development, engineering services, and aftermarket business. At Short Brothers, you will contribute to designing, building, and supporting advanced aerostructures, space, and defence solutions, prioritizing safety, quality, and trust.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Checking kit parts against drawing schedules.
  • Manufacturing a range of aerospace hardware to high standards.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Aircraft-fitting experience is not a prerequisite, as full training will be provided. You will need to interpret engineering drawings and be adaptable to working a range of shifts, including overtime as required, across Short Brothers' Northern Ireland sites.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship in one of the following fields: Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Motor Mechanic, Sheet Metal Worker, Coach Builder, Coppersmith, Aircraft Technician, Carpenter, Mechanical & Maintenance Fitter, Panel Beater, Sheet Metal, Pattern Maker, Toolfitter, Car Body Operator, Boiler Maker, Machinist, Pipe Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Plumber, Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Welder, Fabricator, or a similar skilled trade.
  • OR Four years of experience in a skilled role, coupled with a relevant qualification such as City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline.
