Firmware (VHDL) Engineer
General Dynamics Mission Systems is a leader in high-technology solutions for the defence sector, with a global team dedicated to innovation. In the UK, we specialize in avionics and communication systems, developing advanced mission computing for military fast jets, helicopters, and UAVs. We are currently developing the next generation of safety-critical mission computer systems to meet the demands of new aircraft platforms.
As a Firmware (VHDL) Engineer, you will be integral to the full development lifecycle of both existing and new programs, utilizing the latest technologies. You will contribute to the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensors, and stores management, providing critical information and control systems for aircrew.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Experience in FPGA design and implementation for simple functions.
- Proficiency in VHDL.
- Understanding of the benefits and application of simulation tools and test benches.
- Knowledge of requirements capture, work package definition, and effort estimation.
- General understanding of digital hardware design principles.
- Familiarity with the challenges of hardware design and systems engineering.
- High levels of motivation, integrity, and professionalism.
- Flexibility, innovation, and commitment to delivery.
What We Offer:
- Salary range of £36,000 - £45,000 plus a flexible benefits package.
