Configuration Manager - Permanent, Full-Time
Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd. is seeking a Configuration Manager to join our team in Bristol. This is a permanent, full-time role responsible for maintaining robust configuration management processes to ensure the consistency and integrity of systems, software, and infrastructure throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Configuration Management: Take ownership of the REUK CTTP Configuration Management Plan. Implement and oversee configuration management processes, tools, and methods to ensure data consistency. Manage data repositories, including access control.
- Change Management: Manage the change control process for REUK deliverables. Participate in Omnia Change Control Boards to understand change requests and their impact on REUK deliverables.
- Release Management: Collaborate with the CTTP Quality Assurance Engineer to prepare for the release of deliverables and manage associated release documentation. Release project deliverable documentation and track its receipt.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct audits to verify compliance with configuration policies. Provide configuration status reports on baselines, design changes, discrepancies, and concessions.
- Tools: Manage internal configuration tools. Define and agree on the process for using the Omnia Configuration Management Database.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to ensure consistency across environments. Provide training and support to teams on configuration management processes and tools.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous configuration management experience within a complex environment.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools.
- In-depth understanding of Configuration Management Standards including DEFSTAN 05-57, DEFSTAN 05-61, and ISO10007.
- Excellent influencing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Applicants must have resided in the UK for at least 5 years due to pre-employment checks.
