// Role Specification

Airbus Defence & Space is looking for a Buyer (f/h) to join the Space Components Purchasing and Supply Chain team at their Elancourt site in the Paris region, France.

Role Overview

As part of an international team, you will be involved in various space projects, both locally at the Elancourt site and for equipment developed by other entities across Europe. You will directly contribute to the operational and financial performance of programs by managing purchasing challenges in a multicultural and matrix environment.

You will work closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and project management teams, operating within a cross-functional and transnational context. You will also interface with a wide range of strategic international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct tender processes and price requests to negotiate long-term agreements (forecasts) or for ad-hoc requests.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure the best purchasing conditions, in line with company requirements.
  • Manage commercial relationships with suppliers in your portfolio.
  • Lead various value creation projects aimed at generating synergies and economies.
  • Provide supply support to Operations, ensure contractual compliance, manage claims, and support escalations.
  • Ensure adequate supplier performance levels and conduct annual supplier evaluation campaigns.
  • Contribute to defining the purchasing strategy for a given component or service category and oversee its implementation in daily activities.
  • Act as a local representative of the team, ensuring good collaboration with other functions and coordinating within the transnational team for requests originating from the Elancourt site.

Your Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical purchasing, ideally within the space, defence, aeronautics, or critical electronics sectors.
  • Proven experience in purchasing active and passive electronic components is ideal, with a good understanding of space constraints (radiation, obsolescence, traceability, quality requirements).
  • Proficiency in purchasing strategies within complex project environments with low volumes and high criticality.
  • Experience in international negotiation and supplier management (evaluation, audits, performance management).
  • Contractual skills (NDAs, LTAs, claims management, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills (engineering, quality, supply chain, projects, etc.).
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English and fluent in French.

Additional Information

This position requires security clearance or eligibility for security clearance by recognized authorities.
